Jaguar E-Type Serie II

Condition

The Jaguar E-Type was presented on March 15, 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show as a descendant of the successful Jaguar D-Type racing car. It was available as a two- and 2 + 2-seat coupé (Fixed-Head Coupé) and as a two-seat roadster (OTS or Open Two Seater). The tubular steel frame under the bonnet supported the engine and front suspension and was on the bulkhead with the otherwise self-supporting All-steel body bolted. Jaguar continued the path taken with the Jaguar D-Type.

The 4.2-liter 6-cylinder engines of the Jaguar E-Type series 2 were taken over from the series 1, but received some improvements: enlarged cooling system, lengthened cylinder head studs and from 1969 new camshafts to extend the valve -Setting intervals.

At the same time, a fully synchronized four-speed manual transmission developed by Jaguar itself was used instead of the Moss box with its unsynchronized first gear and long shift travel. Jaguar drivers benefited in particular from the improvement in the weakly padded seats.

The vehicle we offer is in the wonderfully beautiful color “ascot fawn” (beige inside + outside), as it is called in the “Jaguar Heritage Certificate”. The Jaguar is matching numbers and always from a well-kept oldtimer house. The leather interior is very comfortable and the light color means that the leather hardly heats up in summer when the roof is open. The vehicle was completely restored a few years ago, which was also recognized by a ClassicData report with the grade 2+. Highlights are also the beautiful old radio, the tarpaulin in perfect condition and the beautiful luggage rack. The HU was renewed in August 2020, in the course of which a new battery was installed.
Now this emotional-sounding E-Type is waiting for a new owner.
